Black Bears Spotted on NBK-Bangor

Exterior Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Just another reminder of how lucky we are to live so close to nature: bears in our midst. Bears, coyotes, deer and other wildlife live all around us. Recently two young black bears were spotted right here on NBK Bangor. And, just this week, there was a report of a black bear near the bus stop at the corner of Thresher and Grenadier.

Not all encounters with wildlife are expected ones. But if you follow a few simple rules (like those found in the "Black Bear Pamphlet" linked below) you can limit your chances for surprises.

Above all else: do not approach wildlife. Give them space and they will likely avoid contact with you.
